The ARGENTINE law provides three of possibilities of protection.
- PATENT: It protects a new idea that in practice it allows the solution of a certain problem in the technical field. The invention must be New which means that it has not been published or used publicly at national or international level, Non-Evident and Applicable in industry. Protection 20 years.
- UTILITY MODEL: It protects all organized or systematized instrument or method, or new shape obtained or introduced in tools, working instruments, devices or objects for a practical work when they show a better use in the function to which they are aimed. The model must be New at national level and have Industrial Application. However, it will not be an obstacle if it does not have an Inventive Activity or if it is known or popular in other countries. Protection 10 years
- INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: It protects the ornamental aspect of an article. The design may consists of three-dimensional elements (the shape of the article) or of two-dimensional elements (lines, drawings, colours) which do not have to be based exclusively on the own function of the article. The drawings and the designs must be novel. Protection 5 years
